Directions :
Proceed to either Batang Kali or Ulu Yam Baru. You can do this by taking (1) the scenic Ulu Yam Baru and lake road out past Batu Caves (2) the old Jalan Kuching - Ipoh road thru Rawang or (3) the North South Highway heading north towards Ipoh and exiting at Rawang then following signs for Batang Kali. If you reach Kuala Kubu Baru, you have gone too far. Allow at least 1hr travel time from KL.
From either Batang Kali or Ulu Yam Baru, follow signs for Genting Highlands. At the famous "Lucky Light" cross-roads approx half way between Ulu Yam Baru and Batang Kali turn right (from Ulu Yam) or left (from Batang Kali) and head towards Genting Highlands. Set trip-meter at X-roads, and proceed towards Genting. At 1.3m / 2.1km (approx) pass exit on left to “Genting Valley” development and keep driving towards Genting Highlands. At 2.7m / 4.3km pass blitzed development on right sign-posted “Desa Rengas”. Almost immediately, at 2.8m / 4.5km turn left (Hash Sign) into plant and tree nursery. Follow short drive down to parking area next to abandoned accommodation hut and next to river. Park carefully to avoid damaging trees etc which are still being harvested.
This is a nice run site with plenty of shade and access to clean river water, natural swimming pool etc. The run will be a good lefg-stretcer mostly thu mature rubber, so bring mossie repellent for that. Please note, there will be some river crossings , but nothing dramatic. Watch out for wild boar.
ON-ON – New Lucky Light, Batang Kali (adjacent Shell station) – World’s best lemon chicken!
